Have you ever been struck by something profound? Some wise saying that really hit home with you? Recently, I’ve started compiling a list of these Words of Wisdom that can so easily be swept into the far recesses of my mind if I don’t visually keep them close at hand. Maybe that’s why the Lord said to write His words on the tablet of our hearts. (Proverbs 7: 3)
Some of the most wise sayings come straight from the wisest man of all time, King Solomon, who when the Lord granted him one request, asked for an understanding heart to govern his kingdom. When put into practice, these words of wisdom can transform a life.
WISDOM FROM THE WORD (RELATIONSHIPS)
KEEPING THE PEACE ~ “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” ~ Proverbs 15:1
A GIVING SPIRIT ~ “A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.” ~ Proverbs 11:25
KIND WORDS ~ “He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity.” ~ Proverbs 21:23
A HUMBLE HEART ~ “Let another praise you and not your own mouth.” ~ Proverbs 27:2
KEEPING YOUR COOL ~ “Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” ~ James 1:19
WORDS OF WISDOM FOR LIFE (THOUGHTS TO CHEW ON)
~ If You Don’t Like the Fruit, Change the Root.
~ Comparison is the thief of Joy
~ Unforgiveness Can Destroy Your Life ~ Choose to Forgive
~ Do what you love
This 10th one is very near to my heart. I’ve kept it close at hand for over thirty years while I pursued my dream of becoming a published author. I fought many discouragements along the way, but the Lord was faithful to see my dream to fruition. I am so very thankful for His love and mercy.
FINAL WORD OF WISDOM
~ Go for your dreams. If God has put something on your heart, don’t hold back and don’t let anyone or anything discourage you. God has a plan for you.” ~ Gianna Jessen

I read this wise saying based on Jonah and the withered vine, from Gail Johnson: “when things aren’t going the way we’ve planned, let us not be angry while sitting under the shade of His blessings.” Powerful thought!
Yes it is, Becky. Thanks so much for stopping by to share it. God bless!
I like Jeremiah 29, I know the plans i have for you, plans to prosper and not to harm, i have had this scripture quite a few times and it has been right, blessings, thanks for sharing.
That’s one of my favorites as well, Ann. It was the theme verse for my first novel. Thanks for sharing!
