Today I’m honored to have another fellow Mantle Rock Publishing author as my guest. Sara Foust has a wonderful message to share about her upcoming mission trip and how the Lord is using her debut novel, Callum’s Compass, to help fund it. Sara has also graciously offered to give away a print copy of her novel, so stick around to the end for a chance to enter!

“Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.” Ezekiel 37:4

Can you imagine standing over a valley, looking down onto the skeletons of slain men and women, and hearing from God asking you to preach to them? Really picture it. What a strong faith Ezekiel must’ve had! Not only did he do as God asked him, but watched (in amazement, I’m sure) as these bones came together and reformed living, breathing human beings. God asked. Ezekiel did.

Recently, I’ve felt called to go on my first mission trip. We leave April 30th and return the day before Mother’s Day. Boy, what a good Mother’s Day it will be for me! I have never left my husband and children for more than a couple days. I’ve never been out of the country. I’ve never been on a mission trip. I’m doing a lot of nevers. But I completely trust that God will take care of me and lead me where He needs me to be. And, I am absolutely honored that He would ask me to be a bearer of His truths.

There are many places in the Bible where God asks us to take His word out into the word and deliver it to them. I must admit I do not do it as often as I should. But, it’s been an amazing gift to see my first book come into form. To see the words I’ve prayed over for two years be printed and to hold them in my hand. It is one way I hope to share the truth of God’s love with the world. Through my written words, I hope God can speak to readers’ hearts and remind them that He is there with open arms.

It has been a tremendous year of growth and change in my life, and I so look forward to what next year will bring. To the mission trip. To my second book (hopefully). And to whatever else God chooses to call me to do next.
